For its 75th anniversary in 2011, the Memphis Coin Club commissioned the striking of encased 1936 Buffalo nickels to commemorate the event and the year of its founding, 1936. At the same time, a smaller quantity of mint 2011D Jefferson nickels were encased for distribution to club members only. A few of these 2011D encasements are now available to collectors through eBay.
