Description
Here's a dandy large CONKLIN ENDURA pen from about 1929. This pen is a 5-1/4" long with nearly flat, but slightly rounded ends. The trim on the pen is gold filled and color is Black & Pearl. The pen is a lever filler and while the lever moves okay, the sac is sluggish and will have to be replaced before it will take up ink. The pen has the commonly seen toning in most of the pearl area, but remains pretty good at the upper area of the cap. Athough it looks great after a little polishing, there is brassing at the top of the clip and possibly some on the upper cap ring. Final noted flaw is a crack...possibly just a surface crack... on the barrel threads, about a 1/4" and not reaching the opening or section. Three line barrel imprint is strong and the clip is marked. CONKLIN PAT. MAY-28-1918. Lever pat. date is marked on the lever. There are four engraved accent groves, 2 on the cap and 2 on the barrel. Section and feed are flawless. Nib is a big CONKLIN ENDURA with a crescent shaped breather. It looks like a medium width, straight, good iridium and relatively firm. Another nice example of this pen is illustrated on pg 236 of the blue book...same brassing. Beautiful pen.Prior to bidding, please read below the information on payment, return policy and on international shipping. Florida buyers must add 7% sales tax.
