Description

First time I've come across the big #50 in these early hard rubber CONKLIN CRESCENT filllers. This pen is 5-3/4" long, has chased hard rubber and a 7 block letter full name monogram on the 1/2" wide gold filled cap band. Color is  the pen is pretty throughout, but the barrel is worn more heavily than the cap. No brassing to any of the trim. Cap is marked CONKLIN along with 1918 patent info. Barrel imprints are a little weak, but mostly readable. The upper imprint is CONKLIN CRESCENT FILLER,  TOLEDO OHIO USA and a full line of pat. data.  The lower imprint has TRADEMARK 50. The crescent is marked CONKLIN on one side and REG US PAT OFF & CRESCENT on the other side. Locking ring fits well, is flawless and can be moved fairly early. The filler will need a sac before it will take up ink.  There are some minor, opposing tool marks on the section. The orginal No. 5 nib  was broken away almost to the section when I received it, Having no No. 5, I replaced it with a Sr. Endura nib which seems about right. This nib is in great shape, straight and good iridium and a quite flexible fine point. Great pen!
