Handsome fold-out 1953 Tide Water Associated Oil Company road map of New Jersey, printed more than 67 years ago.
This map opens to 27" x 18" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by H.M. Gousha.
There are inset plans of Trenton and Atlantic City, and the Garden State Parkway was still under construction when this map was printed.
On the reverse side there is a large inset of Newark and vicinity, as well as a pictorial guide to historical sites in New Jersey, including Jockey Hollow, Nassau Hall, Morris Canal, and Sandy Hook Lighthouse.
The map was distributed by the Tide Water Associated Oil Company in 1953 to promote its Tydol Flying A gasoline and Veedol motor oil. It is dated by the code number in the lower margin: 12-AA.
Condition:
This map is in very good, lightly used condition, bright and clean, with
